The title of the job role speaks for itself. Ross runs around putting out fires and exhorting the rest of the team to “move faster”. He is often accused of sticking his nose where it is not wanted…
To use a sporting analogy, Ross is an all-rounder (he would probably choose multi-talented) whose role varies widely according to the state of play. Having joined the company 15+ years ago to do the jobs that no-one else really wanted, he has cleverly made himself indispensable.
His key roles include running the company’s IT infrastructure and heading up the support function. He also considers it vital to bombard the MD with inspirational (he believes) ideas for taking the company forward, often supported by video clips from The West Wing. The day that Ross does not appear on our internal company social media platforms will probably be the day that we hear the hooves of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse!
During the very few hours of the day that he does not devote to the company, Ross attempts to parent his 3 ‘tiny humans’ to give his wife some free time to, among other things, bake a high-quality banana cake for the MD. When not thinking about gladiators, Ross likes a good book such as The Name of the Wind, The First Law Trilogy, The Stormlight Archive and the Saga of Pliocene Exile. He is currently saving his vastly over inflated wages for a Ford Mustang (in yellow) but deep down accepts he will never fit all his kids in it.
